- Development into a Regional Centre: The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) plans to establish Seletar as the regional center for Singapore’s Northeast, similar to existing hubs like Tampines and Jurong East. This decentralization effort aims to reduce CBD congestion by introducing new shopping malls, office spaces, and both private and HDB residential zones. It is strategically positioned to complement the upcoming Punggol Digital District (PDD), fostering job creation and amenities closer to residents.
