While visually appealing, open-concept layouts can be detrimental to focus and privacy. The lack of physical separation can lead to distractions during virtual meetings and difficulty concentrating. If a dedicated home office is essential, consider layouts that allow for enclosed spaces or the easy addition of partitions. Look for properties with nooks that can be converted into functional office areas.

Interestingly, bay windows – often criticized as space-inefficient – can be repurposed into small home offices. By transforming a bay window into a work desk, you can maximize space and enjoy a scenic view while working. Experimentation is required to minimize sun glare on screens.

WFH setups often require multiple monitors, docking stations, printers, and other devices. Older condos may lack sufficient power outlets, leading to unsightly extension cords and potential electrical overloads.
